Hi, I’m Marné Murphy and this is my soul dog, Filo.

On Father’s Day, 2022, my five year old Labrador Retriever, Filo, passed away very suddenly. Filo was my soul dog. My best friend. He was a “career changed dog” from Guide Dogs and was such a gentle boy that he became a therapy dog where he calmed many adults and children alike in hospitals, schools and retirement homes.

I was shattered. I found myself in deep grief after his sudden death and although many loving friends were incredibly supportive, I really needed someone who understood my grief and could help me navigate through it. Unfortunately, I quickly realized that there weren’t a lot of resources focused on pet loss and the grieving process. I decided to turn my pain into purpose and I enrolled in David Kessler’s Grief Education program. It was a beautiful and intense program full of ways to help those in grief.

I became a Certified Grief Educator and decided to focus on serving those who are grieving the loss of their fur children- whether that be support needed before the loss occurs, support the day of the loss and/or support after our pet companion has transitioned.

As your grief champion, my goal is to provide you the knowledge, encouragement and permission to explore your feelings of grief so that you may ultimately hold your fur baby in your heart with more love than pain. After all, that is what our fur children would want for us.
